Episode 57: The Time Transformer

Was that deja vu, or did Hordak just change the past by drawing on video footage of historical events? You guessed it: Professor Tempest just created a machine to alter time. It’s called the Time Transformer, and only the most mature Horde members are allowed to hold its history-warping light-pen.

After some helpful user instructions, Hordak begins rewriting his old defeats into victories against She-Ra. But Adora and Bow infiltrate the Fright Zone and attempt to correct these distortions. During the adventure, a feud between Catra and Imp reaches a boiling point, and the rebels try not to comment on the professor’s blue jeans. Then, when She-Ra arrives, she’ll borrow a few tricks from Superman to set things right. Of course, this development stirs up terrifying memories of the evil Superman junkyard fight and an old argument about which movie this scene appeared in – and no amount of Googling will ever solve it.

This week’s story also inspires us to consider our own historical adventures, Wrestlemanias of the past and some misgivings about the Michael Jackson Moonwalker movie.

Best Friends Segment: And, speaking of wrestling – ever thought about an Attitude era in the MOTU universe, or the entrance music for the MOTU warriors? Rebekah talks MOTU with He-Man and She-Ra super-fan Chris Metry of PWP Live Pro Wrestling about the many connections between professional wrestling and Masters of the Universe. A really good talk with some good laughs. Enjoy!
