Hordak bestowing a retirment pendant on Shakra in "The Caregiver."

Episode 59: The Caregiver

Did you see the company-wide email? That Shakra lady from the babysitting department is retiring. I hear there’s a going-away party in Conference Room C, and you don’t have to know her or anything to eat all the food. Somebody said they’re bringing Panera!

After decades of loyal service to the Horde, Adora’s old nanny is finally retiring so she can join the former force captain in the Rebellion. We’re not supposed to wonder what Shakra did for the evil empire; we just have to figure out why Hordak gave her that sparkling pendant before she left.

Welll, you guessed it: Hordak and Shadow Weaver are using Shakra to spy on the Rebellion – but not everyone is on board. So, here we go again! Adora is way too lax about defectors, and everyone else is sharpening their knives. Then Shadow Weaver tortures some prisoners? Some strange tone shifts do little to cut down the tension, and we take refuge during an extended fight scene with some impressive Hordak transformations.

We’ll walk you through everything that’s strange or hilarious in this episode, and we’ll touch upon the tyranny of our past babysitters. Give us a listen and email us, and we’ll sing you a song about cleaning your room.
