Hawke makes her case to the crowd in "Betrayal of Stratos"

Episode 85: Betrayal of Stratos

Hawke frames Stratos for neglecting his guard duties in Avion, the city of bird people, in the He-Man episode "Betrayal of Stratos."

“We the Bird People of Avion, do Believe the first thing we Hear, particularly when the Speaker is Loud and addressing us as a Mob from a Platform in a Very Confident Manner …”

Justice is swift in Avion, the city of bird-people. It is also confusing, irrational and hilariously excessive.

Stratos, winged friend of He-Man, learns as much when he is accused of neglecting his guard duties. Somehow, Skeletor was able to breach Avion’s defenses on a waverunner, and Hawke – a heroic-looking bird woman with a witchy crone voice – wastes no time whipping the crowd into a frenzy of accusation and judgment. Despite years of honorable service, Stratos is banished!

With Stratos exiled, Skeletor returns to steal the Egg of Avion, which grants bird people the power to fly, and Stratos must enlist the help of his friends (He-Man and Orko, Defender of the Realm) to recover it from the Demon Zone. We’ll encounter Whiplash and Krall, the terrifying king of demons – and we’ll debate the arbitrary rules about Demon Zone doors. We’ll never get over those rules.

Plus, we work through a memorable betrayal in Scott’s scofflaw past.
