Episode 92: The Rock People

At some point in the 1980s, the Mattel toy company decided to see if children would literally buy some rocks.

Of course we would! These rocks had muscles, robot voices and transformation action. We’re talking about the Rock People, of course.

We’re introduced Stonedar, Rokkon and Granita as they search for a new home, for their home planet – Geolon – is dying. And where else but Eternia and Etheria would you find another craggy wasteland to calm home.

Our wayward astrorocks land in Etheria, but there’s a small problem: some Hordak guy is kind of a despot, and he’s waging a war against anybody who resists his rule. This is a major problem for the Rock People, because they’re pacifists. She-Ra wants them to set all this aside, though – she thinks this arrangement can totally work.

We have so much going on this episode: dinosaur telepathy, action figure talk, scary alien fashion … Plus, we talk about rock rumbler best practices. If that doesn’t excite you about this episode, I don’t know what will!
