This episode was written to introduce Webstor, an evil spider-based henchman, but Kitrinna – an anthropomorphic “Cat Folk” agent – steals the show.
She joins the heroic warriors after an attempt to recover the powerful Gremalkin statue which He-Man borrowed from a Cat Folk temple. Unfortunately for all involved, Webstor takes advantage of the confusion and snatches the artifact for his boss, Skeletor. Obviously, the good guys must then storm Snake Mountain and retrieve the Gremalkin before Skeletor uses it to summon a towering destroyer-beast.
I’m burying the lede here, though: Kitrinna, who is otherwise very “human,” becomes infatuated with Battle Cat, and it is somewhat … distracting. We also get science lessons from He-Man and consider expectation versus reality when choosing a career in archaeology.
So join us now – as we tromp through a forgotten, trap-laden temple, and try to stop Skeletor from releasing a world-devouring cat monster.
